Every kayak from Jax Yaks is backed by manufacturer warranties and our 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

We're so confident you'll love your new kayak that we offer a 30-day trial period. Take it out, explore the waters, and really get to know your kayak. If you're not completely satisfied within 30 days, you can return it for a refund of your purchase price, minus a 10-40% restocking fee to cover inspection, cleaning, and recertification costs.

To qualify:

  • Kayak must be returned in resalable “like new” condition with little to none noticeable damage

  • All original components, packaging, accessories, and documentation must be included

  • Customer pays return shipping costs

  • Any damage beyond normal use will be assessed and will affect refund amount

This guarantee lets you try your kayak with confidence while ensuring it's a good fit for your paddling style and needs. The restocking fee helps us maintain our high-quality standards and continue offering this unique trial opportunity to future paddlers.

STEP 2: Gather Required Information

To process your claim quickly, have the following ready:

Proof of purchase (original receipt or invoice)
Serial number (found on hull or MSO)
Clear photos of the damage (see requirements below)

STEP 3: Submit Photos

Please provide clear, in-focus images of:

For Kayaks/Canoes/SUPs:

  • Full view of hull

  • Full view of deck

  • Close-up of damage area

  • Clear image of serial number/MSO label

For Paddles:

  • Full view of front and back

  • Close-up of both blades

  • Close-up of damage or failure point

  • Photo of product tag (if available)

For Accessories:

  • Photos showing damage or defect

  • Product details, SKU, and quantity

  • Close-up of affected area

STEP 4: We'll Handle the Rest

Once we receive your information, we'll:

  1. Review your claim and photos

  2. Submit to the manufacturer on your behalf

  3. Keep you updated throughout the process

  4. Coordinate repair or replacement

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

What's NOT Covered:

Manufacturer warranties do NOT cover:

  • Normal wear and tear (scratches, UV fading, etc.)

  • Damage from misuse or neglect (dragging over rocks, improper storage, etc.)

  • Commercial use (rentals, guided tours, commercial operations)

  • Alterations or modifications to the kayak

  • Damage during transport (roof rack issues, tie-down damage, etc.)

  • Second-hand purchases (warranties are non-transferable and apply only to original purchaser)

Note: Using your kayak for commercial purposes voids the manufacturer warranty.

Q: Does the manufacturer warranty transfer if I sell my kayak?
A: No. Manufacturer warranties are non-transferable and apply only to the original purchaser with proof of purchase.

Q: What's the difference between 1st quality and 2nd quality hulls?
A: 1st quality refers to brand-new kayaks in perfect condition. 2nd quality refers to "blemished" or factory seconds—kayaks with minor cosmetic imperfections but full structural integrity. These have shorter warranty coverage.

Q: Can I return a kayak after 30 days?
A: Our 30-day guarantee expires after 30 days from purchase. After that, you're covered by the manufacturer warranty for defects, but not general dissatisfaction.

Q: What if my kayak was damaged during shipping?
A: Contact us immediately (within 48 hours of delivery). Shipping damage is handled differently than warranty claims.

Q: Do I pay for return shipping if I use the 30-day guarantee?
A: Yes, return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. For local customers, you may return in person to our Lebanon, MO location.

Q: How long do repairs take?
A: Most warranty repairs or replacements take 2-4 weeks depending on manufacturer processing times and parts availability.
